Newark Urban Enterprise Zone
The Writing Company prepared an identity package for the Newark Enterprise Zone as it embarked on a high profile effort to promote patronage of member businesses as well as market to new members.
Graphically, we sought to create a clean, simple identity, suitable for use on literature, signage, banners and posters that would reflect the UEZ status as a shopping district and as a haven for economic opportunity. We integrated target-style map symbols within chunky, modern type and, because the UEZ marketing program was targeted not only to prospective shoppers, but also to prospective members, we added a tagline - Everyone Wins in the Zone. This tagline reflected the fact that the UEZ offered benefits to both audiences.
The Writing Company first applied the logo on a series of marketing materials we developed, designed and produced for the Newark UEZ, including a pocket folder, brochures in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and a constituent newsletter.
