Prior to founding The Writing Company, the firm's president, Gloria Bryant, enjoyed a successful career as head of public relations offices at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Medgar Evers College, Bell Telephone Laboratories and the Newark, New Jersey, School District. During that time, Gloria developed a unique awareness of what makes for successful communications in today's complex world. In 1985, she drew on that experience as she launched The Writing Company.
Since that time, Gloria has built a firm grounded in the notion that the effectiveness of all appeals depends on the artful use of language. Designing communications programs for multicultural audiences is an especially strong area of expertise. Her successes here include an award-winning outreach program for the City of Newark's environmental awareness program, a marketing initiative for the State of New Jersey's Multicultural Tourism project, crisis management efforts for the Jersey City Public Schools, and a national publicity program to support the aggressive UNCF fund-raising campaign for predominantly black member colleges.
In addition to her leadership role at The Writing Company's helm and heavy demand for her expertise, Bryant's hand is evident in each of the firm's projects. An accomplished writer in her own right, she continues to set the editorial tone for the wide range of publications, print collateral and video programs the firm produces.
The National Association of Business and Professional Women recently named Bryant "Visionary Entrepreneur of the 21st Century." |
